Child Safety – Abróchate el Cinturón
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, traffic crashes are the leading cause of death in the United States among Hispanics under age 34. With funding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), The National Latino Children’s Institute (NLCI) developed a web-based tool-kit to be used as a tool to help educate immigrant Hispanics about the importance of seat belts and increase the use in the population.
Combining extensive research and input from immigrant communities, partner community organizations and law enforcement, NLCI created an effective tool kit, capable of reaching Hispanic immigrants from many different nations, each with distinct cultural, religious and political practices and influences.
The toolkit created includes bilingual, downloadable Poster, Rotofolio/Flip Book, PowerPoint, Palm card, Stickers, Video, Radio PSAs.
