NLCI Applauds First Lady

SSS Logo NLCI logo letterheadNLCI has been a leader in the movement to develop healthy life styles for children and families.   After reviewing and assessing existing programs, NLCI leaders determined that there was a need for programs that incorporated Latino culture, traditions and history if they were to reach and modify the behavior of Latinos.

With a grant from Kraft Foods, NLCI developed Salsa, Sabor y Salud.  This bilingual, bicultural curriculum was tested by diverse Latino populations and today it has reached thousands of children and their families.

NLCI salutes First Lady Michelle Obama for helping raise the country’s awareness about the importance of eating healthy and exercise.  Read about the First Lady’s projects to not only get kids to eat healthy but, to also cook healthy.
